Wikipedia Definition: A Street team is a term used in marketing to describe a group of people who 'hit the streets' promoting an event or a product. 'Street Teams' are a powerful promotional tool that has been adopted industry wide as a standard line item in marketing budgets by entertainment companies, record labels, the tech industry, corporate brand marketers, new media companies and direct marketers worldwide. Street team members that are highly trained are now called Brand Ambassadors.

BEGIN MISSION BRIEFING
RED ALERT RED ALERT RED ALERT
ATTENTION STREET TEAM:
We have received an SOS call from an Art for Edison campaign in trouble. The barely audible distress call could be made out to say...
Mayday - Mayday - Mayday
We need stuff. We need volunteers. We need stuff. We need 6' Ladders.
Mayday - Mayday - Mayday
HQ quickly triangulated the distress signal and found the location to be at 3350 Quitman Street... Edison Elementary School. The campaign in question? Edison's Big Sale, scheduled for:
Saturday, May 2, 8AM-2PM
Sunday, May 3, 8AM-12PM 1/2 price day
STREET TEAM MISSION SCRAMBLE
We need to scramble our forces to quickly respond to this distress signal before it's too late. HQ requests that all forces within range respond immediately to this distress call.
1. Capture the Stuff.
Track down the elusive stuff. You must secure all stuff within a 10 mile radius. Not only do we want your unwanted stuff - we want you to talk to your neighbors, your best friend, family, hairdresser, bank teller, coffee shop girl, wine shop guy, the person in the line behind you at the grocery store, and everyone that you work with. They all have unwanted goodies in their basements, guaranteed. Street Team Intelligence found a poster at Edison that said:
For the Kid’s Sale we need items like:
outdoor toys & equipment, strollers, baby & kid’s
furniture, bikes & trikes, books & games,
gently-used kid’s and maternity clothing / shoes –
and ANYTHING else kid related you can think of.
For the Yard Sale we need items like:
furniture, small appliances, TVs, lamps, bedding
(anything YOU’D like to buy at a yard sale).
Intelligence reports that a Women's Consignment Store that went out of business 2 weeks ago just donated their entire remaining inventory, so women's clothing would also be great stuff!
2. Bring Stuff to RVP (RendezVous Point)
HQ will establish a command center in the Edison Elementary Gym Wednesday through Friday. Bring captured stuff to the Edison Elementary Gym Wednesday-Friday. Please use caution in transporting that wily stuff. Any additional time you can spare to assist in the tagging of items as a consignor or at the RVP would be appreciated, but all items will be accepted with or without tags. Its not too late to sign up as a consignor at http://myconsignmentmanager.com/artforedison/.
3. Tours of duty.
Please join your comrades in one or more 2 hour shifts at the sale. Be prepared. Have you ever experienced a Filenes Basement Wedding gown sale? These shoppers could be dangerous! The campaign team needs emergency support Wednesday-Friday in the gym until 8:30PM for set-up, and during the sale hours posted above. Enlist for a volunteer slot by replying to this email, signing up across the hall from the Edison office, or online at http://myconsignmentmanager.com/artforedison/.
4. Elevation Requirement
The final part of the distress signal, We need 6' Ladders, was a real puzzler. HQ worked with signals intelligence to try all known codebreakers - pig latin, invisible ink, bazooka joes bubblegum codes, but nothing could break the cipher. Then it hit us, they need 6' ladders! Upon further research, it was discovered that the consignment sale will create a high end boutique in the Auditorium by hanging clothes on rods strung between 6' ladders, So, please lend them your ladders at the RVP ASAP, they need 16!
5. Emergency Communications
As we have seen in the news, during vast emergencies, sometimes the cellular grid can't process emergency communications. To ensure that we have open lines of communications at all times, HQ asks that you follow us on twitter for up to the minute status reports: twitter.com/artforedison
